Day trip to Cummins Falls State Park and DelMonaco Winery and Vineyards

This was the perfect weekend to get outside in Nashville. The weather was sunny and just hot enough for hike down to Cummins Falls in Cookeville, TN. It was short hour drive east of Nashville. The hike is moderate though I saw all ages and body types on the hike. You hike down a trail and up the creek to the falls. Once you get to the falls there are a ton of big rocks to lounge on and everyone seemed to be okay leaving there stuff to take a dip. It is also a dog friendly park. Totally worth the trip. Just go early because it gets pretty crowded. I would say at least 400 people were there Saturday.

After you visit the falls make sure you make DelMonaco Vineyard a stop on the way out. They had a awesome wine list with very knowledgeable tour guides that really know their wine. I recommend the Noiret Wine and the Garden Cheese. Both are sold at the vineyard and you can request cups and a cheese board to enjoy the treats there after your long hike!

This is the Berry wine sold in these cool bottles! It would make a great gift and is delicious with ice-cream.
